Open gyms will be held at Leaning Tower YMCA on Monday, 7/26, and Wednesday, 7/28, from 7-9pm.
Cost: $5 per play per each date.
Non-APM players are welcome. They (non-APM players) must bring a signed waiver to participate (contact Denise). If you have already completed one for another APM activity (ie plyo's), another form is not needed.
APM will be offering a boys program the 2010-2011 Season. Please contact Sebastian Acevedo for more information. We will be posting more boys information soon so please continue to check back.

Congratulations to Sebastian Acevedo for becoming the new head girls varsity coach at Maine South High School. Also to Scott Brown who will head the Gordon Tech girls program this fall.
APM now has four head varsity coaches on staff.

15U-2 Black Ends Season with Hardware
The 15U-2 Black team took first place in the Bronze Division this past weekend at the 2010 Asics Mikasa Junior National Championship.
They played with fury as they battled through pool play Friday and Saturday. Entering into the Bronze Division they had the passion and tenacity to leave it all on the court as they defeat Shamrocks 152, Rally Force 15 Purple, and Sky High 15 Gold. Jane Acker, Alyssa Ruehl, Taylor Homyk, Shannon Sremac, Alana Sremac, Kaitlin Andersen, Maddie Jones, Kirsten Lee, Julia Clafford & Coach Scott have worked so hard throughout the season and their efforts paid off! Excellent season ladies, we are so proud!

15s take top finishes at Asics Mikasa
The 15U-2
Black teams finishes first place after an outstanding championship match against the 15U-1 Black team. All the girls played with their hearts and put all their skills into action.In the end the 15U-2 team played a near flawless match. "It's always fun to watch two teams from the sme team compete in the finals. Very exciting to watch!" said the Asics Mikasa Tournament Director. Excellent job to all ladies!

The 15U-2 Black team had a great showing at the Lonestar Qualifier and the 15U-1 Black team finished strong on Saturday and Sunday. Both teams played well and finished respectably. Nice work ladies!

16U Black had another great showing at their last tournament. They took 2nd place after a well fought championship match. Congrats girls!
15s Take Third at Fusion
The 15U-2 Black Team came out on a missionand played their hearts out at the Fusion tournament last weekend. They placed 3rd overall out of 24 teams. Great job ladies!
18s Take Third at Palos
The 18U Black team came out to fight as they demonstrated hard work and dedication. They challenged all their opponents and ended the day with a 3rd place finish. Way to go girls.

Great Showing for APM
in Louisville
This past weekend
the APM Black Teams traveled to Louiville, Kentucky to participate in the JVA KIVA Bluegrass Prequalifier. All the teams came out on fire and performed well. Each improving their overall seeding in the event. Excellent job ladies!!
18U Takes 5th in Louisville
Going into Kentucky, our 18's were seeded in the middle of the pack. With talented teams challenging them, the 18's came together with a plan and executed it well. In the end, the girls qualified to compete in the Gold bracket, leaving Kentucky with a very much improved seeding of 5th place overall in their division.
15U-1 Black Shows Their Potential
After a big tournament win the week before, the 15U-1 Black
continue to make strides. Excitement brewed as they entered the Expo center seeded 17th out of 36 teams. The girls took the court with one thing in mind "Do Work!" which they did every single point over the two day event. By the end of the tournament they saw what their team could do: qualify for the Gold Division, raise their ranking from 17th-7th and place 5th overall. What a great weekend for them. Great job ladies!

Big Weekend for APM!
APM had a strong showing this past weekend with three teams finishing
first. 15U-1 Black and 14U-1 Gold were the tournmament champions at the Circus Series on Sunday. 16U Black also performed well finishing as tournament champions at the Netforce Open on Sunday as well. Excellent work ladies, we areall so proud of you!!!

Congrats to Senior Megan Knapp
Megan Knapp has commited to play at Arizona Western next season. Megan has been with APM for three seasons and is currently a member of the 18U Black team. As a middle, with APM and Lane Tech, she has earned numerous accolades throughout her career. We are proud, honored, and thankful of Megan for all her hard work and dedication. Another Strong Opening Weekend for APM
14U-1 Gold come out strong in their opening tournament this past Sunday. Lead by Coach Chris, the girls served strong and moved well resulting in a first place finish in
pool play and an overall Second Place Finish in the finals.15U Gold also came out to show they had talent too. After a slow start the 15U Gold team rallied to take second place in their poo and Third Place finish overall. Congratulations to all the APM teams for another exciting start to the season!

16s Dominate in Asics Mikasa
Under the leadership of our APM Director Denise Beaudoin, the 16U Black dominate their opponents. Never underestimating their opponents, they fought as one and battled strong to earn the title of Champions! This team has some great things to come. Great work girls and keep it up!
18s Prove Strong in First Tournament
18U Black came out to fight and prove they have the talent to be successful. Taking first in their pool the 18s keep their momentum alive through the Championship match where they lost by a slim margin taking 2nd
in the Asics Mikasa Tournament. Awesome job ladies!
15s Are Two Teams Worth Watching at Energy
Going into a 24 team tournament dominated by 16U teams both 15s prove that they have fight and talent. 15U-2 Black came out strong demonstrating that defense wins games. Led by Scott Brown they took 2nd in their pool and seeded 8th overall. 15U-1 Black fought through adversity after being the only 15s team in their pool. This is a team not to be underestimated. They dominated their pool taking 1st and were 6th seed overall. After steam-rolling their opponents in the next 2 playoff matches, they lost a close exciting playoff match 25-18, 23-25, 14-16 and took 3rd Place. They fought every match, every point and by the end of the day everyone was talking about these two teams. Great job ladies!!!
New Addition to Coaching Staff: James Lee
We are happy to announce a new addition to the APM family, James Lee. James has been active in the volleyball community for a number of years.
He is a youth minister and JV Assistant Coach at Regina Dominican High School. James will act as the Head Coach for the 14U-2 Gold Team. Welcome to the family James!

16 Black Perform Strong in Netforce Tournament
Sunday APM 16 Black opened their season with a promising showing of talent despite not having a full roster. They placed second in their pool but lost a close match in the semi's. Mayor Daley Volleyball Tournament:
This is a two day event. The dates for the tournament are Sunday 12/27 and Monday 12/28. We would like to enter as many of our travel teams as we can into the Mayor Daley Sportsfest Volleyball Tournament. Coaches will be asking players if they will be able to attend this week at practices. Please let your coach know if you can attend one or both dates. Any questions contact your coach or Denise.

Join us to watch great collegiate volleyball:
We invite all APM members, family, and friends to join the staff and other players to watch #5 ranked U of I take on Northwestern Wednesday 11/25/09 at Northwestern. Game time is 7 pm. Attendees are encouraged to meet between 6:15-6:30. Cost for the event will be less than $7 and we are currently working on getting a group discount with 15 or more its $2. Please checkout the facebook invite. In order to get an accurate count we ask you RSVP via facebook or Denise.
